Terrestrial examines the connection between earth and cosmos through works inspired by Australia’s diverse waterways. Each piece begins with painted studies of lakes, rivers, and coastlines, capturing the natural patterns, colors, and textures unique to these landscapes. Fluid layers of ink are then applied over these foundations, allowing unpredictable movements and gestures to transform the imagery beyond traditional representation.

This interplay of intention and chance creates dynamic compositions where familiar waterscapes dissolve into abstract forms that resemble planets, galaxies, and distant terrains. The resulting works blur the boundary between terrestrial and celestial, inviting contemplation of the ways in which the natural world reflects the infinite.

Terrestrial encourages viewers to reconsider the landscapes around them, suggesting that the mystery and wonder often sought in the cosmos can be found in the subtle rhythms and shifting surfaces of the waters that shape our world. By reimagining these environments, the series offers a perspective in which the everyday and the extraordinary are deeply intertwined.
