Poise is part of a new series I’ve started that tries to express the mixed feelings that surface during lockdown. This new reality that we have all been forced to deal with has unleashed a range of feelings of confusion, bewilderment, even fear about what the future might hold. All I can do at this time is to try to embrace and find peace within the moment and with what I already have.

Using found and foraged natural materials that fill my studio I am arranging them in new ways to create a collection of absurd, playful, figurative creatures. Poise feels like it has the right combination of elements to convey that feeling of contentment and stillness during these uncertain times.
