Flight from Chaos is from a series of papercuts inspired by the poem ‘The Birdsong from Inside the Egg’ by the Persian poet Rumi.

Using imagery of birds and their songs, nests and eggs I explore that space within us where new possibilities are nurtured.  Here, there is potential for awareness and belonging and inevitably, change.

Paper is used to suggest the temporary, fragile nature of this metamorphic process. The dominant colour I choose is red, for its warmth and life affirming quality.
