Please join us for the opening celebration Saturday 8th November for an evening of music and art
This body of work is an invitation to a different kind of seeing, one that embraces the perceived naivety on the surface to discover a deeper, more intuitive skill beneath, play. The work begins where technique ends.
There is a ‘secret power’ in children’s work. A line isn’t hesitant, but committed, nor the compositions or colours. It comes from a place of wonder and play, where the hand is directly connected to the heart.
To create from this place, a gentle dismantling of the adult self is almost an act of unlearning. Tapping into that uncontrived state, to find and channel play not as a replacement for skill but a different form of it.
