Earlier this year, No Vacancy launched a Pop Up Gallery In Singapore, providing 2 Melbourne based artists an opportunity to take an empty urban shell and transform it into a gallery/exhibition. Stu Morley's photographic display, which is an insight into NYC, will be presented similarly as a Pop Up show, transforming an empty space in the QV, into a raw New York style environment.
Stu Morley's interlude with New York City
shows the dramatic soulful streetscapes that the densely populated, patriotic people of the Big Apple revere...
Morley’s first exhibition ‘Aspirational
Interlude’ captures the essence of New
York with larger than life B&W limited
edition prints that are atmospheric,
gritty and street orientated. The complexity of these raw images and
contrast of the soft tones depict the
unique lifestyle that is New York City.
“...When arriving in New York I actually
found it underwhelming, but as I explored
the streets, I found that everywhere I
looked there was a picture waiting to
happen...” Stu Morley (2009).
Stu Morley has been involved in
photography for over 10 years. Working on
high-end brands such as Mossimo, Mumm
Champagne, Grab Denim, Delicious Magazine,
Kookai and L’Oreal, his interlude of NYC
is his first solo photographical
exhibition in Melbourne.
Opening Night: 18th June 2009, 6.3pm0 - 8.30pm
Exhibition: 19 June - 2 July 2009, Tuesday
