NIOR; Far & Away (First Solo Show) [2nd October 2008]
Nior has been working as an artist for 4 years, and no Vacancy would like to present his first ever solo show.

Nior (formaly known as Junior) has been creating art ever since he can remember.
Born in the hills of Melbourne, Nior's characters are influenced by the native creatures he sees everyday and what he finds in his imagination.
He began putting his artwork around the streets in 2004 and since then he has refined his characters and transformed them into many hairy shapes and sizes.

Far & Away:

In a forest far-away from any human life a gathering of creatures gather.....
The new collection of work by Nior combines the natural world with a surreal twist.
Using recycled timber as his canvas his paintings depict innocent creatures with detailed fur, feathers and textured colours.
The exhibition also includes a large 3D installation which continues the theme with recycled materials.

Nior's first solo show is much anticipated and a great privilege for No Vacancy to hold.
It is the culmination of years of work and development which is amazing considering his very young 21 years.
It is an fantastic showcase of finely detailed characters with life and expressions owned only by Nior's characters.
