Everything is Embarrassing

Josh Hattam

26 March - 6 April

The presentation of this project is driven by Josh Hattam’s interest in the nuanced connections between people and places, as well as the intricate interplay of feelings and meanings. The project serves as an ongoing investigation of the direct and indirect influences that affect the artist's work, drawing from integral experiences at their source. The artist endeavours to capture an essence with a self-awareness that borders on the romantic. At the core of the exhibition lies a personal mythology, one that the artist admits may be embarrassing to confess. Through his painting, the artist delves into themes of attachment, illusion, restrictions, authenticity, openness, and the influence that both humans, material and immaterial exert on our lives.
