STREET ART FOR ASHES: [17th MARCH 2009]
ONE NIGHT ONLY FUNDRAISER
Melbourne’s street artists are doing their bit to raise funds for the Victorian Bushfire Appeal. Coming together under the banner Street Art for Ashes, many of Melbourne’s leading street artists along with those throughout Australia and abroad are donating their artwork to be auctioned.
Funds will be raised by an auction of street art pieces at No Vacancy Gallery on the evening of 13 March and online in the week 9 -16 of March. 75% of funds raised will go to the Red Cross and 25% towards Help for Wildlife.
Event organiser, Nicole Tattersall, is thrilled about the response from Melbourne’s art community. “We are bringing together some of the Melbourne’s most exciting artists for a most worthy cause. We decided to auction many of the pieces over eBay as the response from the art community has been so amazing we couldn’t fit into one space! Using eBay also gives more people the opportunity to participate”.
“We hope that Melbournians come down and enjoy the art and help raise funds whilst hopefully walking away with a unique piece of artwork” says Nicole.
Street Art for Ashes is sponsored by Sketch City, Melbourne Stencil Festival, No Vacancy, We Make Stuff Good and Mad Man Printing.
As well as supporting a great cause, the auction night promises to be an entertaining evening, including DJs, $5 raffle for art and drinks for a gold coin donation.

- Raffle with 10 - 20 paintings on Auction night ($5 per ticket or 5 for $20)
